Winter Storm Tax Deadline Changes

This week, the IRS extended the spring filing deadlines for tax returns for all Texas taxpayers. Any return or payment due between February 11 and June 15 is now extended to June 15.

This includes (but is not limited to) the following:

  • 2020 income tax filings - Forms 1040, 1041, 1065, 1120S, 1120 - and payment of taxes due on these returns

  • 2021 first quarter payroll tax returns

  • 2021 first quarter estimated tax payments

  • The deadline to make IRA contributions for the 2020 tax year

We will likely take advantage of this for many of our Texas clients, in order to provide the best work and guidance that we can. This also will allow you to delay payment of many tax obligations and hang on to your money a little longer. For our non-Texas clients, we will stick to the regular deadlines, although we can likely get an extension for you if you would like.

As always, if you need your returns by a specific date for any purpose, please let us know and we will do everything we can to accommodate. Continue to get us your tax info as quickly as possible so that we can get started when we are able and that you reserve your place in order - we generally work on a first in, first out basis.

Please reach out to me and my team at any time if there's ever something we can do to assist you. Thank you for working with us!
